I spoke with Jeff Farley, Sales Manager at Elmhurst Toyota (Chicago suburb) on 10/31/07, and he informed me that their first ‘08 hybrid Highlander suv’s had just arrived. As we reported last month, most dealers have been out of the 2007 models for quite some time - so this is welcome news for auto dealerships and for all the people who have either been waiting, or holding out for the new hybrid model.
A quick search on eBay Motors yielded a newly listed 2008 Highlander hybrid from Rusty Wallace Toyota in Tennessee, and we’ve included a photo from that listing in our post (shown in Blizzard Pearl, and priced at $38,145). I won’t link to the specific listing, because the auction will end very soon. (If you missed this one, check with your local Toyota dealer as more will be available soon!). What do you think of the newly redesigned Highlander?

I think these new Highlander’s look like a mixture of the Rav4 and the Sienna. Either way it is nice to see the 2008 hybrids start to hit the lots. The new prices are not ridiculous either in my opinion. $38,000 for a 2008 seven passenger hybrid…not a bad deal at all. Especially with gas prices surpassing $3.00.
