Few would question that the Internet is an amazing tool and resource for learning more about nearly every imaginable topic. Sometimes it is hard to remember what we did before the world wide web, but I especially recall all the work that was involved in doing research. That said, there are still times when I prefer to get my information from a book, magazine or newspaper. Call me old school, but even the high tech Kindle doesn’t come close to a real page turner.
One example is when I am beginning my new car research. I’ve subscribed to Consumer Reports on and off for as long as I’ve been old enough to drive, and without question my favorite has always been their Annual Auto Issue. It provides data collected from thousands of car owners, in-depth coverage of a few vehicles, as well as CR’s Top Picks, Best & Worst, Most & Least Reliable, Best Value Cars, Recommended Models and much more.
Other major auto magazines like MotorTrend and Car & Driver also have annual car buying issues, but I have yet to find any publisher that offers a hybrid car buying guide (except in online format). Even hybridmagazine.com has nothing to do with hybrid-electric vehicles (although we still hope to someday develop HybridMagazine.net).
Because you can’t go to your local newsstand to buy an annual guide devoted exclusively to hybrids, the publishers of our site (Hybrid Kingdom) created one that you can buy, download, and should you choose…print for your reading pleasure. Aptly named the “Hybrid Guide” and available at hybridguide.org, you can now get the 20 page, full color guide to every new hybrid vehicle you can buy in 2009. Even better, it is currently On Sale for only $9.99 (which includes free yearly updates).
Want to preview the 2009 Hybrid Guide before you buy it? Here is one page, reviewing the 2010 Lexus HS 250h. As you can see, you get price (MSRP), gas mileage, class, specifications, general data, a review, photos, and links to other expert resources…all in one place.
If you’re considering a hybrid vehicle and prefer to compare your options side-by-side, the Hybrid Guide is a great alternative to spending hours of time doing research online. Buy it today for $10 – we guarantee you’ll be glad you did.
