We are now just a couple of weeks away from Earth Day, 2010 (April 22nd) and already we’re seeing green advertisements to celebrate the 40th anniversary. For the past three years, we’ve searched the web to find hybrid car sweepstakes and giveaways - and this year we’ve found several worth your attention.

Want to win a new car or sport utility? Seems everyone would like a free car, but they are so hard to find. Over the past couple of years, some of our most popular articles and posts have been those that directed our visitors to car sweepstakes and vehicle giveaways. Since it’s been several months since we searched the web and blogosphere to uncover eco-friendly and hybrid car contests, now seems like the perfect time to do it once again.

It’s no secret that times are tight, and you being the stalwart environmentalist you are probably wish you had the extra cash to invest in a slick piece of green technology. Well, have no fear because I have compiled a list of contests where you can win a hybrid SUV or car. Because what’s better than driving a hybrid? Driving a hybrid for free! Hybrid Car and SUV sweepstakes, giveaways, contests, raffles, and promotions are all the rage on this eve of Earth Day 2008.  It appears that there will be a lot of hybrid autos given away during ‘08, as I’m hearing about a new “win a hybrid car” promotion nearly every week.  I spent a few hours scouring the net tonight to bring you seven chances to win a green car, so here they are in no particular order…

The Toyota dealers in the Central Atlantic region are giving you until November 30, 2007 to register to win a 2008 Highlander Hybrid SUV.  According to the official rules and regulations (.pdf) you can register at ToyotaThinkGreen.com although I found a link on ToyotaLiveWeb.com, along with an online registration form on that site.  Appears that both of these URL’s take you to the same site, so take your choice I guess.

O Canada!  Are you a Canadian resident?  Have you reached the age of majority in your province or territory?  Do you have a valid driver’s license?  If so, you might be eligible to win a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid SUV.  RBC Insurance recently launched what they are calling the “Hop in a Hybrid Giveaway”, which runs for a full 12 months (from November 1, 2007 thru October 31, 2008).  Looks like this is a no purchase necessary sweepstakes, and those who are eligible can register online.

While I was out scouring the net tonight, searching for the latest hybrid news and any tidbit of information pertaining to hybrid suv’s, I came across a forum post that mentioned a “no purchase necessary to win, $25,000 Toyota Prius Giveaway” at BHG.com.  And while I realize a Prius is not an SUV, I decided to take a look.
