The 2011 Chevy Tahoe is still one of the largest hybrid SUVs on the market today.

Reviewers have called it the Green Monster, which sorry Red Sox fans is not a reference to Fenway Park’s wall, but more a recognition that the Tahoe delivers the traditional features of a full-sized SUV, but with the fuel economy of a sedan.

It can carry eight passengers and has a towing capability 6,200 pounds, which is comparable to that of many small trucks. Even with these capabilities, the 2011 Tahoe delivers an EPA estimated 20 MPG city and 23 highway.  Read more...

The 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid’s fuel mileage – 21 miles per gallon in the city, and 22 miles per gallon on the highway – might not seem impressive until considering the fact that this full-size SUV offers almost all of the same power and utility of a V8-powered truck, minus the incredible fuel consumption those vehicles are known for.  Read more...

The Chevrolet Tahoe is available in four models (LS, LT, LTZ, and hybrid) for 2009, ranging in price from $37,915 to $51,405. Now in its second year of production, the 2009 Chevy Tahoe hybrid is mainly unchanged from 2008 with the following exceptions. The ’09 model now has power-adjustable pedals, Bluetooth connectivity, real-time NavTraffic, and OnStar’s stolen vehicle slow down assistance (where OnStar rep’s can decrease the speed of the vehicle in the event it is stolen). Other than that, it looks and drives pretty much the same as it did last year (which is great news in my opinion, as this vehicle won the 2008 Green Car of the Year award from Green Car Journal).  Read more...

The hybrid 2008 Chevrolet Tahoes are here!  The wait is finally over for those in the market to buy the largest hybrid SUV in the world, and this version of the Tahoe is supposed to get about 20 mpg.  We’ve been watching several websites and search engines closely since early January, and the first available models we’ve located online are currently on eBayMotors.  A few days ago, we started seeing some similar listings, but they were only for those who wanted to pre-order a hybrid model.  Now, we are seeing a couple of dealers who actually have one on their lots.  Read more...
