Reuters recently reported that India’s Mahindra and Mihindra Limited has plans to bring a hybrid version of their award winning Scorpio sport utility vehicle to U.S. markets in 2008. For those who aren’t familiar with M & M or the Scorpio (also known as the Goa), there is some additional information available on wikipedia.org. Evidently, the Scorpio has been around since 2002 and is sold in several countries, including Russia, France, Spain, and Italy.
The official site for the Scorpio SUV can be found here (flash intensive!) which includes a link to an interesting “Bond like” video. We were unable to find reviews of the Scorpio from our traditional sources, but did locate a Mahindra Scorpio review at CarsInIndia.com, where it’s stated that, “The Mahindra scorpio is one of the many SUVs that India has fallen in love with. Its big, its chunky and its a diesel.”. Guess it remains to be seen if Americans feel the same way!

When is the Scorpio going to be available in the US?
