The Mazda Tribute Hybrid – “HEV” for Hybrid Electric Vehicle as the company calls it – is another iteration of the Ford Escape Hybrid’s basic platform. The good news first. The Mazda is not quite as pricey as either the Escape or the Mariner, the Tribute serves as sort of a de-contented edition of the basic Ford design, a more accessible entry-level step into the world of hybrid sport-utility vehicles. Now the bad news. If you are looking for a 2010 Mazda Tribute hybrid, good luck finding one.
Most Hybrid Cities In America
I made my first trip to San Francisco this week and although I expected to see a higher percentage of hybrid cars compared to most Midwest cities, I was really surprised. Throughout the Bay Area and north into the California Wine Country, it was nearly impossible to go anywhere without seeing a hybrid vehicle. And while the Toyota Prius was by far the green car of choice, the fact that it is also the most easily recognizable hybrid probably skewed my informal reporting. I also noticed many Honda Civic hybrids and armies of hybrid SUVs.
Geneva Yields A Hybrid Crossover
The Geneva, Switzerland Auto Show turned 80 this year and as expected, the theme was green. Full details can be found at the official address (here) and with more than 10,000 global media reporters in attendance – you can’t hide from the coverage.
Roughly 100 vehicles are making their world premieres at this show, which is a record in itself. They range from outlandish concept vehicles to unconventional and totally unexpected combinations of brand and drive train. HY-KERS! There is even a ”hybrid Ferrari” that gets nearly 15 mpg (here).
2010 Yukon Hybrid Options
Like the sharing that goes on between the GMC Sierra and the Chevrolet Silverado Hybrids, the 2010 GMC Yukon Hybrid is a virtual replica of the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid underneath the skin. Of course, to some buyers that metal skin is a very important feature, as styling is often one of the key characteristics that makes someone choose one vehicle over another.
