Subaru Hybrid Coming in 2012Subaru recently became the first automaker to receive back-to-back “Sport / Utility of the Year” awards from Motor Trend. Even more impressive is the way they did it. In 2009, the Subaru Forester topped all other SUVs – in part because gas prices were out of control and the Forester’s 16 mpg rating was the best option in an AWD SUV (full report here). Now Subaru has won the same award with a totally different vehicle – the 2010 Subaru Outback.

Sometimes it is hard to remember what we did before the world wide web, but I especially recall all the work that was involved in doing research. That said, there are still times when I prefer to get my information from a book, magazine or newspaper. Call me old school, but even the high tech Kindle doesn’t come close to a real page turner.

Mitsubishi PX-MiEV Crossover in 2013?

mitsubishi-px-miev-suv.jpgMitsubishi made some electric noise earlier this year when they started testing their battery powered, zero-emission i-MiEV (electric vehicle) in Tokyo. It was questionable whether this tiny car (scheduled to go on sale in April 2010) would ever get built, but a recent report from Edmunds indicates that all 1,400 i-MiEV’s scheduled for the initial production run have already been presold.
